A true sensory dimension

Take advantage of digital enhancement

Digital finishing covers all the printing processes applied to printed materials to improve their final rendering, aesthetics and feel.

Spot varnish and hot foil stamping are the most commonly used finishing techniques. Strategically applied to key elements of a shared visual, such as a logo or title, these finishes add shine, texture, and sometimes even relief to a print. Beyond the visual and tactile appeal these finishes provide, they give your brand a truly sensory dimension. When used subtly, hot foil stamping and spot varnish add the necessary seductive element to invite touch and trigger the act of purchase.

Attract the eye

2D and D3 varnish, texture, gilding

2D varnish, 3D varnish, texture, and hot foil stamping are among the main finishing techniques. Although they complement each other, each offers a unique result by playing on different visual and tactile aspects: more or less pronounced relief, tactile sensations, shine, and colors. Used alone or in combination, these high-end finishes transform simple prints into true sensory experiences that stand out and make an impression.

  • 2D varnish

Selective varnish is one of the most commonly used finishing touches to enhance a print. Applied to a laminated or unlaminated surface, clear varnish creates a real contrast between the matte surface and the transparency of the varnish.

  • 3D varnish

Applied in a sufficiently thick layer, selective varnish can create a relief, sometimes even a texture, that catches the eye at first glance. Whereas 2D varnish promises a primarily visual result, 3D varnish also adds a tactile dimension. But its potential doesn't stop there: applied in sufficient quantity, 3D varnish can reach the thickness necessary to read Braille characters.

  • Textures

By varying the thickness of the varnish depending on the area of the surface, it can faithfully reproduce various textures such as the grooves in wood, the grain of a basketball, or the scales of a reptile. This technique also allows flat areas of color to be enhanced by applying a set of repeated patterns.

  • Hot foil stamping

This is the ultimate high-end finish. Applied over a selective varnish base, it enhances your prints by adding shine and brilliance. Subtly applied to your material, it reinforces its premium character, its luxurious and unique appearance, and creates a real connection with consumers. Gold, silver, holographic, blue, red, green—a wide range of colors are available.

Not just an aesthetic detail

Varnish and gilding, the silent seller

Spot varnish and hot foil stamping attract attention and invite touch from the first glance with their brilliance, elegance, and subtle reflections. This sensory contact creates a strong emotional connection between the consumer and the product. In an often saturated shelf, these high-end finishes allow the product to clearly stand out. The finishing then becomes a real purchase trigger.

Enhancement isn't just a cosmetic detail. It's an integral part of a product enhancement and differentiation approach at the point of sale. By enhancing the visual and tactile impact, it significantly increases the chances of being chosen, flipped through, and added to the shopping cart.

A cover, packaging, or any other medium enhanced in this way becomes a true vector of identity, evoking values of reliability, quality, and trust. By opting for hot foil stamping and selective varnishing, you don't just embellish a medium; you tell a story and strengthen your positioning.
